Forum ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our multi-persona AI discourse engine.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from the authentication provider. We use this to create and manage your account.

Content You Submit

We store the content you submit to Forum (stimuli, messages, forum sessions) to provide the service and allow you to access your history. This content is processed by our AI systems to generate persona responses.

Usage Data

We collect analytics data about how you use Forum, including page views, feature usage, and session information. This helps us improve the product and fix issues.

Feedback

When you submit feedback through our feedback button, we store your message, the page URL, and your user information (if signed in) to help us address your feedback.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the Forum service
• To generate AI persona responses to your content
• To save your forum history and preferences
• To improve our product based on usage patterns
• To respond to your feedback and support requests
• To detect and prevent abuse or technical issues

Google Permissions

When you sign in with Google we request only what we need:

• Sign-in: Your name, email, and profile picture (to identify you and display your account).
• Calendar: Requested only when you use meeting import. We read event titles and attendees to let you create forums from meetings. Read-only; we do not modify your calendar.
• Google Drive (import): Requested only when you use "Add from Google Drive" or import a Google Doc. We list and read documents you choose so you can bring them into Forum. Read-only; we do not delete or change files in your Drive.
• Google Drive (export): Requested only when you export a document to Google Docs. We create a new Doc in your Drive with the content you export. We do not request access to all of your Drive files.

You can revoke any of these in your Google Account at any time. We never request broad "see, edit, create and delete all of your Google Drive files" access.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to provide Forum:

• Google Gemini - AI model for generating persona responses. Your content is sent to Google's API for processing.
• Neo4j Aura - Database for storing your account and forum data.
• Google/GitHub OAuth - Authentication providers for sign-in.
• Vercel - Hosting and analytics for the web application.
• Sentry - Error tracking to help us fix bugs.
• PostHog - Product analytics to understand usage patterns.

Data Retention

We retain your account information and forum data as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your data by contacting us. Analytics data is retained for up to 12 months.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict processing of your data
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format

Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, secure authentication, and access controls. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on Forum or sending you an email.
